The Gamely Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race run annually at Hollywood Park Racetrack in Inglewood, California. A Grade I event, it is open to fillies and mares, aged three-years old and upward, and since 1973 has been run at a distance of one and one-eighth miles on the turf.
In its 43rd year in 2009, the race was inaugurated in 1939 as the Long Beach Handicap but then was not run again until 1968. The race was renamed for the 1976 running to honor the U.S. Racing Hall of Fame filly Gamely who had died in 1975. It was run in two divisions in 1971 and again in 1978.
